Product Overview
Chromium-blocking spinel protective coatings are specially designed for metallic interconnects (bipolar plates) of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) and Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cells (SOEC). The coatings resolve core industrial challenges including high-temperature chromium volatilization, oxidative corrosion and rising interfacial resistance of ferritic stainless steel substrates, serving as standard protective coating materials for metallic plates of high-temperature electrochemical devices.
Core Product Advantages:
Chromium Poisoning Resistance:The dense coating blocks high-valent chromium volatilization from stainless steel substrates at high temperatures to suppress cathode chromium poisoning, and restricts the formation of high-resistance oxide layers on substrate surfaces.
Superior Electrical Conductivity:After a 500-hour long-term aging test at 800℃, the area specific resistance (ASR) of coated samples is maintained at ≤6 mΩ·cm². Low impedance degradation during long-term high-temperature operation ensures stable power output of soft stacks.
Well-Matched Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE):The coating CTE ranges from 10.5 ~ 11.5×10⁻⁶/K, closely matching that of mainstream ferritic stainless steels such as SUS441 and Crofer22H. The coating resists peeling and spalling under thermal cycling conditions.
Dense & Uniform Coating for Complex Geometries:he finished coating achieves a density of ≥95% withou through-pores or microcracks. It can uniformly cover plates with grooves, bosses, irregular flow channels and other complex structures with consistent full-surface protection.
Customizable Formulations & Controllable Powder Performance:Self-synthesized spinel powders support customized formulations including pure MnCo₂O₄ and Fe-doped modified Mn-Co spinel. The powder D50 particle size can be tuned between 0.3–0.8 μm to optimize coating density and sintering processes.
High Dimensional Accuracy & Stable Mass Production:Coating thickness ranges from 10 ~30 μm with a stable thickness tolerance of ±2 μm in mass production, delivering uniform coating thickness and minimal batch-to-batch performance fluctuation.
